Cute episode. 
I don't see what everyone's getting so upset about. Nobody's saying that we all have to go out and join a matchmaking service right now or even that we should. They're just presenting an option. 

Also, matchmaking = escort service? Um, I don't think so. First of all escorts get paid in cash. Most don't get taken out for dinner or drinks, just straight to the hotel (or where ever) for sex then money, goodbye.
 I don't know about anyone else, but that's not generally how my dates go.

Negative stereotypes?  I'm a single, working woman, who volunteers and I don't see this as a negative stereotype.  I mean I'm interested in eating right and exercising.  If I wasn't dating someone now, I'd be interested in the matchmaker.  Yes, there is a recession and people are out of work.  I was one of them recently.  However, these girls aren't telling people to spend their rent money and unemployment checks on dating services.  

If you want to see videos on people getting by in a bad economy or how to eat ramen for a month, make your own video.  No one is stopping you.

Tell Lisa that I am willing to be part of her male inventory.  This will really throw a monkey wrench into Kasey's capacity to figure out who is getting something for "nuttin"  I would pay for any date which  will confuse her/him even more.  She could be a character on SNL obsessed with what's in everyone else's backpack.

We are living in trouble times where thousands of people are being laid off every day and all we get from you is a way to WASTE 0? Who in today's world can afford this? No one is going to go out and shell this kind of money for this kind of service. This makes me sad because I feel like the info you are sharing is devoid of any real value. 

If you want to connect with your viewers, please discuss topics that more of us can relate to. It's like you are completely unaware of the world we live in.

This was a fun episode, but it didn't seem like Lisa knew where to look into the camera.

Kasey is not some fringe freak. I think I can speak for her and many others - a lot of people have legitimate critiques of the overall message these girls are sending. 

An open letter to Mary, Julia and Meghan: We're not some sad Internet trolls - we're wives, mothers, career women, friends and volunteers. We take offense that you reinforce some very damaging and negative stereotypes here and on your blogs. You want to be taken seriously but when you get any heat for the things you say, you tell people to "lighten up" it's just "fluffy entertainment." We're former fans that have been let down by your once promising web business. You had and continue to have amazing access and opportunities yet you squander them for spectacle. You make a mockery of other female web entrepreneurs. You promised a message of "living differently" but you continue to perpetuate a sad stereotype. You make excuses and don't fulfill your promises. You squash and block out negative feedback instead of listening to the people who care enough to comment or raise the level of discourse. You had so much promise and now you're a sad Internet joke. Is that what you set out to do? Is this what you want to be? Are you accomplishing the goals you set out to accomplish when you launched your venture?

I was kinda hesitant about the whole matchmaking thing, but after watching this episode I really liked Lisa because she seems as if she really cares and wants her clients to overall feel better about themselves.  

Who would every think that "being inventory" could be so fun?!

Interesting show indeed, ladies! 

I've never tried it myself, but I've had friends who did the whole matchmaker thing with varied results---I'd imagine in a huge place like NYC where it's so tough to really get to know people on a more intimate level, matchmaking is a great choice to make. 

Why should it still be taboo in this day and age to pay to have someone help set you up with other single folks, after all? It goes on internationally all the time!
And hey, nothing wrong with a gal who takes advantage of the spoils of dating around? We've been scamming fellas for free dinners and extra perks for years. Nothing new there, I admit...

sometimes i come back and read the comments just to see the insanity that Kasey's spewing this time. her/his comments are always so weirdly intense and always good for a few laughs. i guess next time my boyfriend pays for my dinner i'll have to come to terms with the idea that i'm in some way his "escort service" for the evening.

Although, I am in a long term relationship... so i didn't find this episode necissarily helpful, I do agree with DJ Jazzy in saying that this episode had real flow to it, it was fun, and informative and when it ended I was kinda sad because I wanted more.

I'd liek you ladies to address the "inventory" issue. It's my understanding that "inventory" girls get a kick back for the dates they go on. A kick back in the form of payment.

i love matchmaking. there is nothing more satisfying to me than introducing two friends who go on to have a sucessful friendship or relationship -- one couple i introduced has been dating for over three years with an eye on engagement this spring! i'm very nosy (my boyfriend would even say meddling) and i love to know that everyone around me is happy.

I liked how you ladies distributed the speaking and leadership more or less equally.  With the exception of Mary's "how do we find love?", I thought the entire show seemed very natural and smooth.  While Mary's line made me laugh, it seemed very scripted... it might have been because she suddenly focused directly towards the camera (or teleprompter) and said those words.  Regardless, the entire show appeared to be more of a collaborative effort, which I thought was a positive change from prior episodes.

As far as a matchmaking goes, I guess I should not knock it until I try it.  However, it seems expensive if the interview costs 0.  I would imagine there must be additional fees per date or if there is a successful match.  Does it cost anything to be "inventory"?  Regardless, in the grand scheme of things, the cost is peanuts if it is successful.

Inquiring minds want to know.... did any of you have success through Lisa?
