May December Dating

my bf and i only differ by a year and we're still in our early 20s but our relationship has the dynamics of a may/dec relationship. he's just so mature in his way of thinking, which i attribute to him entering military school at 17 so he not only has some experience but also he was surrounded by older and more mature people who could have influenced him. i guess i just wanna say that just because someone is same age as you or a bit younger, doesn't always mean they are less mature and that you should immediately dismiss them.

I am not the typical May in my May/December relationship- I am the provider of food, shelter and everything!  I was looking for just the opposite.  Not that I would quit my job or sell my home, but I thought he would be my 'provider.'  He's a great guy, and we are going into our third year together... unfortunately, I grow more and more disappointed with the relationship.  What's a girl to do??

older men do though tend to know what they want, already have life experience AND arn't looking for a little fling like commitment, their typically more stable in the fact that they want a relationship leading into marriage. for for those of you who want that, it works.

lucky you girls. gays can only get married in a few states. haha.

Oh.  I always thought May-December relationships meant the relationship lasted from May until December.  I guess I've never heard of it because I know no one who would date a man who could be their father.

I'm sorry, Meghan, but the kind of relationship you talked about, the one your granparents had, is not realistic at all. You junt can't ask somebody to spend fifty years of his/her life with you. Honestly, it doesn't sound like a relationship to me, it sounds like some sort of servitude.

If you believe that love is about being with somebody every day of your life, for 50 years, you are going to end up very dissapointed. Life doesn't work that way.

i'm a real fan of the may december dynamic. I hate 20-something guys. Older men tend to be settled in their careers, which is a plus. But this doesn't mean they aren't assholes either.
