Its time for the Glamour Women of the Year Awards and the women of TMIweekly are not missing this event. With speakers such as Tyra Banks, Fergie, Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, inspiration is everywhere. Who inspires you? Let us know at TMIweekly.com! Less[-]
I was actually at the Glamour event. I work for one of the women honored that night. So no, not jealous, just a bit astonished that while Mary and Meghan seemed to come away with something worthwhile from the evening, for Julia it was once again about being seen and getting famous. The women honored that night have real talents and real gifts. Their goal in life was not to become famous but fame came their way. JA's goal in life seems to be fame for nothing. It is bizarre.
Yay.com, what a nice episode! (That was for you, Julia. =D)
I don't like the trend of responding to any insult with "you're just jealous," but it seems accurate here. Hey, some people are going to be happier, more successful, or just better pleased with themselves than you and I. Sometimes it won't be because they've deserved it according to your definition of merit, but it'll only make the world a worse place to act so hateful about it. The kind of success that these girls have is not limited enough that it tanks any more "worthy" project.
Lordie-Lord---what's up with all the Hatorade some of you are swigging here? You all can justify your nasty comments all you like, but I think you've just got some thinly veiled jealousy spilling all over your comments.
Okay, so these gals got to go to a nice awards show and felt like discussing it---obviously they were excited about it and felt very privileged to be there and share their own thoughts of the whole evening. Can you blame them?
And NO, I don't work for them and I'm not some gushy fan or sycophant of theirs either---I just don't get why some people are so pathetic and unhappy that they feel the need to post rude things like that on other people's websites. Sure, you have a right to express your negative opinions, just keep in mind that you make yourselves look really sad and bitter in the process.
Maybe you should take a look at yourselves and understand why these gals get you so worked up and bothered enough to post such useless bile---why not use that extra energy for more positive matters?
Peace and love, poopsies!
I found it offputting that Mary actually takes a moment to talk about a child rape victim, and Meghan discusses how inspiring it was to meet Jane Goodall, but JA once again is more concerned about getting into parties and how maybe if she emulates Tyra Banks and Condoleeza Rice and Hillary Clinton just NEVER GIVES UP maybe she can be just as famous one day too! (Famous for what, we're not certain -- famous for being ambitious?) Maybe Julia too can go from being a nobody to somebody if she just keeps barging her way into parties! After all, she was once in the balcony and she wasn't this time!
Wow. NPD indeed.
I mean seriously, what do you do? I come to this site every so often (masochistic tendencies), and it's ALWAYS THE SAME. You, posting pictures of yourselves, at an event. Big fucking deal! That's your life? What do you actually DO? Besides dress up and mug for the cameras?
None of you, btw, are at all naturals at this. The economy is tanking, no one cares about you, and I can't wait til your financing runs out and you all just go to B school or wherever daddy's money takes you next.
My god, you sound really angry.
There's no need to get mean.
And yes, I do hope that one day I'm up there giving a speech. We're nothing without goals.
BTW, very few people are "naturals" at anything, my dear. Those who have made it, made it because they worked their asses off practicing.

I doubt you'll be up there giving a speech. FYI. They reserve that for people who actually do something constructive. Posting pictures of yourself posing with the same pursed lips expression does not generally count.
I for one, know about work. Because I put myself through college and grad school and have a real job. I think that's quite different than your experience, from what I understand.

You, for one, "know about work"? That's so cute! What do you do?? Is it fun? You sound really fulfilled!!
Maybe one day you'll be in the Balcony at the Glamour Women of the Year awards!
See you there!

Wow! To think that four years ago, Julia was on the BALCONY! And now she's IN THE MIDDLE! Another four years, she might be GIVING THE SPEECH!
Get, the hell, over, yourself. Jesus Christ. You are no one. You're all a joke.
My inspiration is totally my mom. Since I was very little, I wanted to be just like her. She's a fantastic mother and role model for my sister and me. She's a strong woman who practically raised us by herself (though she didn't get out of her abusive marriage until just a couple of years ago, she was really the only present parent) while being the main breadwinner in our house -- a successful doctor, respected in her field, helping her patients one-on-one. We're very close (we talk every day) and she's one of my best friends. My birthday was this weekend (22!) and the best present I got was to have my mom drive to my city and hang out with me for a couple of days!
PS - I forgot to add that just like Julia, I also find Fergie to be such an inspiration. She overcame her meth addiction and even though it kind of ruined her face she did not let that stop her and now she is a famous singer and dating a hotty!!! Way to go, girl!
She's really kind, incredibly warm and quite beautiful in person.
If you've never met her, why would you be so rude about her?

WOW, I mean the three of you are so incredibly inspiring I dont even know wear to begin!!!!! To think that a girl can come to NY city with gut and determination and can start a blog and get noticed and then get invited to a super prestigious event like the Glamour awards is just amazing. Those are my goals in life and I want to be a famous blogger too and then get a book deal and go on to make a show like Candace Bushnell did. It is the ultimate dream for any girly girl who loves her dog, fashion, cupcakes, men and this great city of ours. You inspire me every day to be my best and live differently, even though I dont look like a model and I am not famous... yet!! wink wink!!!!!!!
PS - JUlia, you should wear jeans more often!!!! They show off your amazing curvy figure perfectly :) :) :)
We all came here with no contacts, little money, and the dream of doing what makes us happy for a living - and now we're doing it. I'm proud of that, yes.
PS. I'm never wearing jeans again!

Great work! My inspiration is two Janes: Birkin and Addams.
Honestly, I dunno if THAT many gals inspire me personally...I sorta inspire myself, and admire others along the way.
I used to admire the strength, grace and creative intelligence of Tori Amos though. I admire the fashion flair that Gwen Stefani always displays. I always admired a certain local gal I used to know who sang like an angel and dressed/acted like a diva.
And I'll be a total cheeseball here when I admit that you gals are quite inspiring! NO, I'm not playing goofy fangirl here because I'm older than you all and have already been down some of the roads you three are currently traveling, but I can't help but be inspired by fellow gals who decide to take their careers into their own hands and follow their passions. Looks like you all took those lessons you learned at the Women of the Year Awards to heart, so good for you---now keep up the hard work and keep on going! ;-)
