Julia, you are SO CUTE! "Hi-YA!" haha.
But seriously, I'm glad you're doing something like this, it's inspiring! But I do have to agree, a ponytail might have been more practical :)
I never comment but I really enjoyed this episode. Good luck on your quest, Julia! Althought I will say that I wouldn't expect to lose 10 lbs in one month - thats pretty unrealistic and you will end up disappointing yourself.
Hey Julia! it's great that you are doing this, i'm also trying to lose A LOT of weight because my cousin's wedding is coming up in june of next year and I am a bride's maid, So i was wondering if there are any tips you can give me so i can lose the extra pounds a bit faster? thank you i love your show, all you girls are very beautiful.
Cut out excess sugar like soda and bottled juices. Manage your other carb intake by eating whole grains earlier in the day.
For snacks, eat fresh fruits and veggies instead of bars.
Eat lean protein like chicken, turkey, and white fish instead of red meat and pork.
Alcohol contains empty calories, so try to limit drinks.
Hope this helps!
oh my gosh i enjoyed this episode of TMI so much. kudos to you julia for being brave enough to have your BMI, weight, measurements out there for the world to see... good luck on this 30 day challenge and beyond! i can't wait to see your results.
if you're serious about losing working out and trying to lose weight, the LEAST you could do is put your hair in a ponytail. you look pretty silly exercising with your hair all in your face.
I don't get it either, but some women really don't mind the hair in their face.
Jules usually does wear a pony tail though...

Ten pounds does not seem like a very realistic goal for just 30 days, especially for someone with that amount of body fat. If you just tone up some, you'll gain muscle mass and lose fat, but the gained muscle mass does not really translate to weight loss. I am not sure weight loss is even a relevant goal in this case - just a byproduct of a healthier workout regimen. It seems unhealthy and disordered to focus just on a short term weight loss goal - you'll gain it right back and then some if you do it that fast. Focus on weight training and cardio - no one should get that winded after just one mile.
As fit as I am, sometimes I get winded going up the subway stairs!
In terms of "loss" v. "tone" - Julia will find both by incorporating a healthier diet and any amount of exercise.
