Salsa is great to do as a couple. I'd recommend swapping partners in the class -- too many couples that stick together drive each other crazy with "helpful suggestions" and either break up or never come back. Bad. Let some other girl be the one to tell your guy he has no rhythm. There's a huge social salsa scene out there -- so it's great for singles as well. And most cities in the world have salsa, so it's a good way to meet new people when travelling. Tango is more romantic but a bit challenging if your guy has no dance experience. Ceroc is still popular for newbies to dance, but, well, it kinda lacks street cred. The music can be old (Shania Twain?!) Newer dance styles like Zouk and Bachata are seriously cool and have great music, but not good for those that like their personal space!
