re: green tech -
Since you already own a regular charger, any green benefits of buying a new fan-powered charger are negated by the environmental harm incurred in its production and transportation, not to mention that the commodification of gadgets leads to them getting thrown away or replaced far before their lifetime is up (not even getting started on the planned obsolescence, short natural lifetimes, and inherently non-reusable nature of these products). So the "greenest" tech would be buying gadgets sparingly, using them till they drop, and disposing of them in an environmentally friendly way if possible.
In general, "green" has become a fad. Green consumerism, the marketing of products related to that fad, will come and go, but while we're waiting for the inevitable backlash, remember that no matter what, reusing or buying used (this goes for clothes too) is always better, environmentally speaking, than buying whatever new sustainable crap comes out because then you aren't responsible for the resources used in making a new product. Not to mention that, since most of our goods are being produced in less developed countries by workers being paid basically nothing by our standards, the harm incurred isn't just environmental.
I don't want to be a huge downer, but paying lip service to the environmental movement without making any meaningful change is ignorant at best.
This is really depressing.
Its high school girls posturing again, are we actually meant to belive that these girls really care about any of these topics?
Also they play the part of trying to give out important information and tips, when all they're doing is discussing topics seen weeks ago on more informative blogs.
I wonder if their parents are just as transparent and fake?
Part of this was actually quite good. However, it is unbearable when more than one person starts talking at the same time. This isn't live, so I would expect better editing. Talking over each other is not cute. Also, I think Meghan pronounced the product incorrectly. Good luck with everything.
I actually like the talking over each other. It shows that the show is not scripted and this is the girls' personalities. I'd rather have the show be real than it be scripted!
