Step behind the scenes with Julia, Mary and Meghan at CES 2009 and check out some of their favorite new gadgets. Plus see some of the videos they made while at CES. What gadgets are you looking forward to this year?
Bi-weekly: In the adjective and adverb senses, the prefix bi- applies to the week rather than to the events that occur, therefore giving the sense of “every two weeks”. Since the term is also used in the UK to mean “twice a week”, it is ambiguous there. For the sake of clarity, it is advisable to use one of the synonyms instead.
I'm kinda bummed about dropping to two a week. Will it stay in rotation ... Life-Tech-Style?
It's just impossible to cover an event like CES in 4 minutes, and I admit I was hoping for much more blogging, considering the effort you three put into it.
However, I will say that the few points you made we solid, and make for interesting discussion:
- Is Palm too good, too late, as most Treo users have moved onto other platforms?
- What's the impact of Apple-style engineering (a.k.a iLuv) on our lives. Do we now expect to just migrate an iPhone/iTouch wherever we go
- Is there such a thing as a laptop that's too small? Is it a girl thing, the rise of the geekette to want a purse-sized laptop. Is Apple pushing new 17" MacBook Pros out to a male-specific audience?
One of the things I love about the show is that the format focuses on how we perceive things. The fact that it's presented by three lovely ladies instead make it more enjoyable.
Eddie
Really good questions Eddie.
Obviously I'm not an expert, but what I can tell you is that people are just tired of big and clunky and are looking for sleek and portable. Everything is moving towards the Apple aesthetic because they are the only one who made a cosmetic leap. Vaio comes close, but the other brands still look like laptops from 5 years ago.
And I'm going to just throw this out there. Palm leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I had the original pda and it broke every other day. Treos, yuck!
That's all from me:)
if you really think its that bad then why watch it?
no one is forcing you too.
Obviously theses ladies have some brains to get to where they are today.

I hope rylee's spelling and grammar isn't indicative of the overall intelligence of your supporters. Yikes.
Julia, that fake laughter is awful and is almost as distracting as the annoying fake "camera click" sound effects. This isn't high school video editing class... enough with the cheesy effects. Your shows could benefit enormously from some polish and professionalism.
And while I applaud your efforts, recapping CES a week after it's over is too little, too late. I hope your recent meeting with the NNN folks yield some better content ideas and overall improvements to this show. Cutting down to two episodes a week is a good start. I'd be interested to know if your audience and page views are growing or shrinking. From the dwindling number of comments, I'd say the latter.

Oh, and where are they, exactly? They have a BLOG. Big deal. Anyone can have a blog. Almost no one takes them at all seriously (how could they?), and a good portion of their pageviews are from people who can't look away from the trainwreck.
Trust. This site is going nowhere, and fast. I watch because I cannot look away. It's just that terrible. Julia is a horrible person (and I saw that strictly from reading her output, it's clear as day), Mary is a passive-aggressive, moderately intelligent (at best) and fashion-challenged sorority girl and Meghan honestly just seems confused half the time. It's fun to watch it implode.

The show isn't loading for me! Tries to load and then just comes up with the replay button when I haven't even watched it for the first time! Any thoughts?
No worries! It seems to have sorted itself out!
I think the bi-weekly format is probably a good plan too. Good luck with it!

Quality over quantity indeed, ladies!
;-)
Interesting choices of items to discuss from CES, although honestly? I wish you guys had gone into more details about other products and events throughout your time there. And when exactly are all these promotional videos going to be played? And where??
I know a lot of folks weren't that impressed with your CES coverage((myself included)) and that things got a little wacky on your site because of it, to the point of Meghan even apologizing about it. Where's the scoop there??
At any rate, good luck with the new bi-weekly format!

Hey Sheryl,
I'm sorry if we disappointed you. I think we bit off a little more than we could chew at such a large event.
Do know that more posts from our CES findings are coming in the future and I will be linking to some of the products we loved later today.
Also wanted to personally thank you for your insightful comment on our QOD page.
We would love to hear your thoughts too!
Which blog do you relate to most - Julia, Mary, or Meghan- and why?
